Haultuco, Mexico

 On the big slog North we stopped on the other side of the Tehuanepec at Hualtuco, a very good stop.Wished we could have stayed a littl longer but we need to keep moving.This is the small park near the docks.

 Very clean streets and layed out nicely.

Cano Island Dive in CR

This is a basking shark aka whale shark. It is about twenty feet long. The diving at Cano was fantastic but visibility was only 6-8 feet and current in spots was brutal. This behemoth just appeared out of the haze.

Chiapas, Mexico

 As you cross the border into Mexico from Guatemala this Frigate awaits your arrival. I expected to be boarded but it must have been watch change. Lucky us! Normally all boats going North or South are boarded.

 The port is very industrial.

As the wet season is to start in May, the locals are doing the burn off like elsewhere in this part of the world.Makes for some interesting sunsets.

Quepos/Manuel Antonio Park

 After leaving Golfito we had a sixty mile trip to our next stop at Quepos. The scenery was reminiscent of the Washington Coast.

 It was sports day in the town and school kids doing the relay race.

 The entrance to the Park was rustic and wild like a jungle should be.

 The park consisted of three very beautiful and scenic beaches that were quite steep with an enormous shore break in spots.

 One of my personal favorite creatures.

Las Secas Underwater

 Snorkeling here was very good. Some of the best I have seen in a long while. While the reef structure was not as developed as Roatan there were lots more fish.

Las Secas Islands

 Near our anchorage in the Secas. A wonderful stop on our attempt to move North. The islands of the Pacific side have been a real surprise. So much marine and wild life. Wish we had more time to spend here.

 Queenie bird watching. Lots of different and beautiful birds to be sighted including Harpy Eagles.

 LCB at anchor. WE stayed here for three days and saw only one boat for half a day.

Panama City

 Panama City, sometimes called the Little Miami is no longer. It has surpassed Miami for the spot light of Central and S. America. A new subway under construction and the city is boiling with new construction. This building looks like a penis from a distance. The architecture in this city is cutting edge.

 Another tower going up. Not unusual to see 100 story residential towers.

 Cinco de Mayo area. About 10 blocks of no traffic. You can buy almost anything in this area if you know where to look.

There are three different buildings be constructed in this picture. I have never seen this much activity in a city.
